Named in honor of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, McAuley Ministries is the grant-making foundation of Pittsburgh Mercy. Our vision is to be a good neighbor whose support has contributed to neighborhoods that are safe, vibrant, and celebrated, and where residents are healthy and enabled to reach their full potential.

Grant funds support capacity building, education, empowerment, essential needs & social services, legacy programs, and whole-person health initiatives in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, Uptown, and West Oakland communities, its three focus neighborhoods, collectively referred to as the Mercy Corridor.

McAuley Ministries Announces the 2025 Sister Susan Welsh Good Neighbor Award Honorees

We are proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Sister Susan Welsh Good Neighbor Award: Erikka B. Grayson and Belinda “Ms. Bee” Upsher. Established in 2019, the award honors residents of Pittsburgh’s Hill District, Uptown, and West Oakland, the three communities historically served by the Sisters of Mercy and now envisioned as the Mercy Corridor.

Grants support capacity building, education, empowerment, essential needs and social services, and peacemaking initiatives in the Mercy Corridor, which includes Pittsburgh’s Hill District, Uptown, and West Oakland, alongside the appointment of Sr. Barbara Anne Quinn, RSM, to the McAuley Ministries Board of Directors.

Grants support capacity building, education, empowerment, essential needs and social services, and whole-person health initiatives in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, Uptown, and West Oakland communities, our three focus neighborhoods, as well as to Southwestern Pennsylvania legacy programs of the Sisters of Mercy.
